  1. NJ Camp Jaycee is located on 185 acres in the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Effort, Pennsylvania.

    Our administrative office is located at 985 Livingston Avenue in North Brunswick, NJ.

  2. NJ Camp Jaycee has a residential camp which runs for eight weeks starting June 26, 2011. Residential camp weeks run from Sunday to Saturday.

    We also have a day camp which runs for four weks starting July 25, 2011. Day camp weeks run from Monday to Friday.

  3. The residential camp fee is $690 per week.
    The day camp fee is $400 per week.

    There is a $75 non-refundable deposit per week which is due when you submit your application. The balance of your camp fee is due four weeks prior to your coming to camp.

  4. Are you kidding?! NJ Camp Jaycee is packed full of sports, art, dancing, trails, music, nature, swimming, boating, games, campfires, movies, and more! There are many new friends to be made and terrific staff who will help you find just the right activitiy, no matter what your interests or activity level.

  5. How many campers attend?

    Between 80 and 160 per session

  6. What are the ages of the campers?

    8 to 80... average age approx. 30

  7. How many campers are in a group?

    8 campers per cabin

  8. What kind of training do the counselors receive?

    counselors study or studied something in human services (education, psych, social work. etc) They receive 6 days of all day training delivered by camp supervisory staff.

  9. How many campers & counselors are in each cabin?

    8 campers and 2 counselors per cabin

  10. What is the counselor to camper ratio?

    4 to 1

  11. Are the cabins air-conditioned or have fans?

    No AC, every cabin has fans and open air screen "windows" for ventilation

  12. Are the bathrooms & showers in the cabins?

    toilets in each cabin... showers are centrally located near cabins

  13. What kind of swimming facility do you have?

    A large pond.. swimming area enclosed with aluminum docks and highly supervised

  14. How do you administer medicine?

    All medicine is poured and administered by the camp nursing staff... pills are counted on intake(check-in day, must be in their original prescription bottles)

  15. What kind of food do you serve?

    we have a typical camp menu.. we serve traditional meals.... peanut butter is served at camp
    . we have many picky eaters at camp and are successful at finding alternatives for most campers.. we recommend families sending highly preferred foods that have this concern.

    All visitors must arrange a time with the camp director and all visitors must be escorted by camp staff
