Our History

Since opening its gates in 1975, New Jersey Camp Jaycee has been a joint effort between the New Jersey Jaycees and The Arc of New Jersey, built on a shared belief — that everyone deserves the joy of summer camp.


What began as a small, heartfelt project has grown into a thriving, fully accredited program serving campers from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Over nearly five decades, thousands of campers have splashed, laughed, and learned beneath the Pocono pines — finding friendship, confidence, and a sense of belonging that lasts long after summer ends.


From its early days to today, Camp Jaycee’s mission remains the same: to create a safe, inclusive space where individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities can explore, grow, and shine.

Brittany Barclay

Camp Director

Brittany is the heartbeat of Camp Jaycee!


She began her journey in 2018 as a Lifeguard and General Counselor, growing year after year through curiosity, compassion, and leadership.


Now, as Camp Director, Britt brings deep passion and purpose to every summer. Her goal: to keep Camp Jaycee a place of laughter, learning, and connection for all who come through its gates. She’s committed to continuing the camp’s long tradition while bringing fresh energy and vision to the team.

Cindy Carbajal

Camp Coordinator (NJ Office)

Cindy keeps the heartbeat of Camp Jaycee steady year-round. Based at our North Brunswick, NJ office, she handles coordination, logistics, and communication — ensuring every camper’s experience is seamless from registration to reunion. Her care and organization help turn the camp’s mission into daily reality.

Lisa Tancorante

Head Nurse (Seasonal)

With warmth and professionalism, Lisa oversees the health and wellbeing of every camper during the summer season. From routine care to quick comfort, she brings both skill and heart — keeping everyone safe so they can focus on the fun.

Kane Todd

Head of Maintenance

Kane makes sure the magic of Camp Jaycee runs smoothly behind the scenes. From cabins and trails to the dining hall and pond, his work keeps camp safe, beautiful, and ready for adventure.
